  • 1936-1960. After electric wires, a range of cords was developed for household appliances (irons, electric blankets, etc.).


  • 1960. Mandatory interference regulations for automobiles in France pave the way for the Bougicord® ignition wire, patented worldwide.
  • 1968. Electricfil moves into its new site in Beynost (near Lyons, France).


  • 1977-1980. Inductive sensors (VRS) for engine management
  • 1985. Temperature sensors
  • 1987. Transmission sensors with integrated electronics
  • 1995. Non-contact position sensors


  • Launch of two subsidiaries, Electricfil Corporation in Detroit (U.S.) and Unifil Elektronik with a production unit in Istanbul (Turkey).
  • New sensor plant in Beynost.
  • Progress in ignition and diesel-injection applications.
  • New production unit for ignition systems in Beynost.
  • Creation of an Electricfil Australia sales office in Melbourne.


  • Development of mechatronic subsystems including sensors and connections, paving the way for solutions to meet future technological needs.
  • 2002. Electricfil Automotive mass produces integrated solutions (sensor + magnetic target + sealing).


  • Launch of two new production units in Wuhan Hubei (China) and Elkmont, Alabama (U.S.).


  • A new technology appears, linear position sensors (LVDT) for automatic-transmission applications


  • An innovative product serving the new needs of automobile manufacturers.
