Improving engine performance

Electricfil offers a broad range of high-performance sensor, ignition and actuator systems designed to improve driving comfort while reducing vehicle fuel consumption and emissions.

Speed and position measurement

Crankshaft sensors allow very precise injection and ignition timing. They are used together with rotational direction sensing to implement stop & start systems for more efficient city driving. Systems integrating the sensor, magnetic ring and engine sealing functions contribute to component downsizing efforts.
The latest generation of camshaft sensors controls the variable valve lift (VVL) function as well as cylinder deactivation.

Ignition

Electricfil is developing a new approach to ignition: smart coils. These devices can measure cylinder pressure, detect sparkplug fouling and adapt the shape of the electrical spark to engine conditions. Coils with high-energy densities have also been developed and are particularly well suited to new "flex-fuel" type engines.

Injection

As a specialist in solenoid-type actuators, Electricfil offers custom solutions that fit the needs of engine injection systems on both light and heavy vehicles, delivering excellent response times and complying with Euro 5 and Euro 6 standards.

Engine air circuit

New engine types integrate advanced air intake and exhaust systems (EGR and Turbo) as well as filtering modules in the exhaust line (DeNox, catalytic converters and particle filters). For these functions, Electricfil is developing new solutions for precise measurement of valve position along with emission type, gas temperature and particle quantities.
