Essential corporate values

Electricfil has always placed great importance on product quality, environmental protection and worker safety. These three aspects are in fact three facets of a system of values that are management priorities. Though product quality is non-negotiable, it progresses hand in hand with environmental protection and the physical safety of employees.

Successive circles of recognition

Following a long period of predominantly internal evaluations, the time came to have our practices recognized by outside organizations..

Since 1988, the company has accepted the certification procedures required by customers. The certification acquired bears witness to their confidence in the quality of the design and manufacturing procedures on a site by site basis.
A bit later, it became necessary to obtain quality, environmental and safety certification from independent organizations. Electricfil of course accepted on a voluntary basis to go through the various steps, site after site, similar to all major companies operating on the international automotive market.
After convincing its own suppliers to take part in the beneficial quality-certification procedures, Electricfil launched similar policies in the environmental field and, more recently, in safety.

Certification over the years

Quality

1993: 1st certification for ISO 9001 and EAQF
1997: 1st certification for QS 9000
2002: 1st certification for ISO TS 16949
All sites now have this double certification.

Environment

2003 : 1st certification ISO 14001.
One site remains to be certified

Safety

2008: 1st certification for OHSAS 18001 currently underway at Beynost (France).
The other sites will follow shortly.

Quality policy

Electricfil makes every effort to design and manufacture highly technical products and services offering optimum quality to fully satisfy customers and ensure financial results that provide for the future and the independence of the company.

The selected Quality Management system is based essentially on the values below:

• responsiveness,
• anticipation and prevention of non-quality.

This system guarantees satisfactory quality for customers and provides each person with the means to carry out their job efficiently and effectively.

Environmental policy

Electricfil makes sure that its industrial activities respect the environment.
Its policy in this field is built up around three main principles:

• compliance with applicable legislation and other environmental requirements,
• prevention of potential hazards,
• continuous improvement through an integrated Quality and Environmental Management system.

Health and safety policy

Electricfil is setting up a prevention policy on the basis of the OHSAS 18001 operational management system. Three goals have been set:

• reduce the risks of accidents and work-related illnesses,
• comply with legal requirements and other obligations undertaken by the company,
• launch a process of continued improvement in safety and health performance.

In all three fields, quality, environment and safety, the company implements the PDCA (Plan - Do - Check - Act) approach.
Tools for the quality system
Electricfil uses:

• standard tools, including FMEA, Control Plans, Statistical Process Control, 5S, 5 Why, G8D, TPM, QRQC, etc.,
• and more innovative tools such as dependability analysis and accelerated testing (HALT-HASS).
