Magnetic ring module
This mechatronic module integrates a ring magnet and a
sensor together with a sealing system. A ring magnet is a
circular magnet with alternating poles (north and south)
magnetized along the circumference. It serves as a target
for a magnetic sensor placed so as to detect the poles as
they pass by. The active sensor delivers a pulse train with a
frequency that is proportional to the shaft speed.
These two components can be combined with the sealing
function (gasket or plate-mounted seal) in an integrated
module.
Such a system improves accuracy by reducing error due to
mechanical tolerances.
